Character Design

  1. I see your final design, but I’m interested to know how it connects with your interest in Chinese art. I mean, the whole assignment was about creating a character that reflected an art movement. I wish you could’ve put some text saying what you did or even had silhouettes to show the process you went through.

Even so, I can feel that this character is sort of proud with his chest all puffed out. (like the big bad wolf, heh heh). I’m slightly confused about his mouth as I’m not sure if they’re his lips or if it’s supposed to be like a Muppet from Sesame Street.

  2. Interesting design but I'm also curious as to what your initial sketches were. The before and after designs are nice to compare to to see what you were thinking about.

  3. Interesting pose, however, the back leg and spine is position a little weird. The choice in clothing is also very good.

  4. I like your character design because it shows a lot of personality with both its design and pose although i would like to see more involovment with the research. I agree with Yvonne in that you should show your silhouettes along with your design. I looked at your research i would suggest trying to incorporate more of the shapes seen in your research.

  5. I think your character is very interesting and very funny! The colors are working very well. But I'm not really sure how your design relates your research.

  6. I like this image. I think you did well with this silhouette. His three fingers creep me out, but its not about me.
